rpa:group were responsible for the architectural consultancy and project management for the refurbishment of Brook Studios student accommodation in Selly Oak, for our client ESP.
ESP obtained Brook Studios as an existing student accommodation. The brief was to bring all the communal areas, entrance, corridors and stairs up to the ESP brand. A number of rooms were converted to premier apartments to include kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, furniture and full internal decoration. New gym and laundry facilities were also created and hot and cold water services were updated to improve the servicing of the building. The window of opportunity was to complete this within the summer semester, with the remaining rooms being brought on line in the future.
The project has been completed on time and to budget, allowing a superior offer to be brought to market.
